Have you ever wondered how many MOT test centres there are in the UK?
According to the latest database filing on the gov.uk website, there are 23,129 active MOT testing centres in England, Scotland and Wales right now.
That’s… a lot!
But remember, that’s almost the whole of the UK – from the south coast of England all the way up to Scotland, and over to Wales. These include all the large chains, like the Kwik Fits and Halfords of the world, plus every other indie garage registered to do MOT tests.
To become an MOT test centre, you have to be approved by the DVSA, which means meeting certain standards for equipment, facilities and staff training.

But we’re the only one that only does MOT tests. Every other test centre does servicing, repairs, and parts replacements.
But not us. We only do MOTs (if the name hadn’t given it away).
Of course, we do minor repairs to help you pass your MOT. But these are almost always free – like replacing blown bulbs (the cause of 25.6% of all MOT test failures). We even give our customers free MOT retests within 10 days, should their vehicle fail.
